If you are attempting to complete Sensor Calibration on your Robo E4 Pro and are receiving the following message, please follow the below steps:
Error:
"If the sensor is not triggered, please continue the operation after adjustment. 1. Please check whether the sensor is damaged or is not installed in place. 2. The trigger distance may not be reached. Please turn the knob to the right."
Troubleshooting:
This video will walk you through troubleshooting this error to identify the root cause. Instructions in text are provided below it:
Troubleshooting Instructions:
- Turn the printer off and back on.
- Check for firmware updates.
- Run a factory reset.
- Test to see if you can manually trigger the sensor. To do so, pass an object below the sensor to see if the red light turns on and off. The sensor is located on the right-back of the extruder housing.
If you can trigger the sensor:
- See if you can lower the sensor slightly. Loosen the two screws on top of the sensor, slide it down, and try again.
- The extruder may be the reason you cannot complete this as it may be sitting too low. The extruder assembly has some give in it that can be adjusted by a set screw. See above video. Skip to 2:00 for instructions on removing the assembly.
- To test this, remove the extruder assembly and see if you can slide the block closer to and farther from the heat shield.
- Loosen the set screw on the assembly, move them closer together, and then retighten the set screw before reinstalling.
If you cannot trigger the sensor:
- Unseat and reseat the wire for the sensor.
- Lastly, replace with a new sensor.
The below video walks you through how to access the wire for the sensor and how to replace it if necessary. Remember to power off your printer before working with any wiring.
