If you need to replace the screen on your Robo E3 Pro, follow the below steps. Expect this process to take between 10 and 15 minutes. There is a video at the bottom if you prefer to follow along that way.
Tools:
2.5mm Allen wrench
#2 Phillips Head Screwdriver (Having both a straight and a curved ratcheting style will be ideal.)
1. Make sure your printer is powered off and unplugged.
2. Use a 2.5mm Allen wrench to remove the four screws on the outside of the machine.
3. Then, use a screwdriver to remove the two screws from the inside of the machine.
4. Lift the right-side panel off and set it aside.
5. Unplug one end of the screen ribbon cable from the main board.
6. Next we will remove the front panel. Carefully tilt the printer to the side to remove the screws from the bottom front edge.
7. Set the printer back upright and remove the four screws from inside the printer. One is more visible from the right hand side while the others are more visible from the back.
8. Unplug the other end of the ribbon cable. Take note of the route the ribbon cable is following and then remove it from the machine. Refer to the previous photo if necessary.
9. Remove the four screws securing the screen using the Allen wrench.
10. Exchange the screen for your new screen. Be sure not to overtighten the screws. Thread the ribbon cable through the same channel the previous one was removed from. Follow the white cable from the LED strip through the loop, behind the camera, and through the slot so it can reach the main board.
11. Plug the other end of the ribbon cable back in to the main board. If desired, you may briefly power on your printer to test the screen now before reassembling. Be careful as electricity will be flowing through the circuits if the printer is powered on. If the test works, power the printer back off for reassembly.
Follow these steps in reverse to reassemble your Robo E3 Pro. Then, power it on and enjoy your new Robo E3 Pro screen.
